Fashionising loves me and I love them back. Merci Merci for the nice post.
At home in your own city, you become a part of your surroundings… You're a piece of the urban puzzle; you fit in… Then when you confidently pack up your existence into a suitcase and board a train or flight to somewhere you've never been before…the comfort suddenly falls away.
Things that seemed so normal before draw baffled stares. You're the proverbial fish out of the comfort of your water. How you choose to respond to being a stranger in this land - so similar…and yet so different - is up to you. You can feel the crushing weight of being different or…the liberating glee of being unique.
In her shoot a visitor from out of town Claudia Goetzelmann captures that feeling of being a stranger, and obviously so. City dressing against a rustic backdrop…a big city girl stepping into a small country town…the robotic and unnatural poses of the model make her…discomfort with her surroundings all the more visually apparent.
