After a long stressful day at work, it is nice to unwind to something you love. In this case, it was photography. At the Camera Club of Los Altos, we had a guest speaker and judge, Gaylen Grover. For Gaylen and his wife, photography is a hobby and passion.
In addition to putting our photographs through the ringer, Gaylen talked a lot about his technique and revealed to a secret to his outstanding photographs. He uses HDR to expand the dynamic range of his photos – no grunge allowed – and then he vignettes the photos to draw the viewer into the photo. While all subjects are outstanding on their own, this little technique brings a little extra pop to his photos.
Please check them out at his website here. I am looking forward to trying his technique in the future!
