Eric is the director of the Utah Creative Freelancers Network, an organization dedicated to the promotion of the freelance photography and graphic design careers of its members. The group meets monthly and features talks on subjects ranging from photography marketing and business management to insurance and taxes. He is an experienced entrepreneur and a frequent speaker on a wide range of subjects, including photographic techniques, career planning, and marketing. His photography blog has helped educate millions of aspiring photographers. Eric's interest in photography started as a teenager. With his trusty Pentax K1000 purchased in a second hand shop, he went to work shooting life on campus for the high school newspaper. Eventually, his passion for photography prompted him to turn his bedroom into a darkroom. Later, he moved to Hawaii, where he helped build Oahu's first public access digital photo lab. His love of electronic music led him to a night gig as a club promoter. After searching unsuccessfully for a nightlife photographer to document his events, he gave up and started bringing his own camera, where he discovered an affinity for DJ photography. He is currently working on a photo book titled "Wheels of Steel: DJ Portraits." He lives in Salt Lake City with a beautiful wife and two cats.
