Patrick Davison is an Associate Professor of Visual Communication and the Director of Documentary Projects at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina. Davison teaches photojournalism and multimedia classes and leads international and domestic documentary multimedia projects.

Davison has been a photojournalist for two decade, most recently as a Staff Photographer for the Dallas Morning News and freelancer for numerous magazines. He has more than 100 media awards, including The Pulitzer Prize for News Photography (staff award) POYi Newspaper Photographer of the Year runner-up, five-time NPPA Regional Photographer of the Year, and other multimedia, photography and writing awards.
