Honorable Mention (#14) – “Falling From A Dream” by killercheekbones – We enjoyed trying to figure out the floating lady. Often in contests, it’s the photos that hold the interest of the viewers that moves it to the top. Certainly, the intrigue helped hold the judges attention. But it created more questions than it answered, which held it out of the top spots.
Honorable Mention (#67) - "Playing with Light" by PeterSmithFoto – We thought touching light was delightful. It’s the component we all chase as photographers. Seeing it tantalize a child, we hope will remind other photographers how delicate and inspirational light can be to our craft.
Honorable Mention (#85) – “Ride at Carnival” by aimerkhan – It’s a little too centric as a composition goes. It was also a bit typical as a carnival photo. But the colors were bold and subjects were in motion. It wasn’t a standard static image.
Honorable Mention (#32) – "Untitled" by JustinCarrasquillo – Any photo with a sense of humor brings delight to the viewers. We enjoyed the smile it brought to our faces. We wish it were a bigger smile.
Honorable Mention (#81) – "Lima Peru" by rolandpugh – It’s one image the judges did not all agree upon. We liked it for it’s space, but didn’t like it for it’s space. We could see it as an image among other photos in a group, but not necessarily to stand by itself as the main component to a photo spread.
